The sink was loose from wall so easy to install tiles behind it. However large gap still between sink and retiled wall. The old can of expanding foam was completely ‘solid’. So I got some packing polystyrene from a box in the lift and cut thick steps that I wedged behind the sink. This has forced the sink against its fixing bracket and it no longer wobbles. Luverly. Some tiles under sink poorly aligned. Lesson, measurement has its place. I should have bought left-hand handles for the Pvc windows. A moments thought after trying to fix a handle and I realised the LH and RH handles are not interchangable because one opens cw and the other opens acw. I will see if supplier will exchange the three unused handles. I like the style and feel of the new handles so I will replace all the window handles before others break. I will also put some vaseline on the sticking window seals. Lesson: better to check with supplier if any questions and buy one for a trial before buy money so can see if the idea works or there are any unexpected problems before committing to purchase of a large number. Mastic around windows but only one shot at finishing by running wet finger over surface. Multiple attempts at finishing and one gets a very ‘pulled’ finish. Martin suggests using washing up liquid on finger and one can finish the surface of the mastic multiple times .
