Walking Tring, Ashridge Estate

May 9, 2015

We have done this walk before but I only remembered parts of it. This weekend is peak bluebell.

Lunch was at the ever reliable Bridgewater Arms. This is a great combination of pub and stylish destination. The floors are hard and the staff are cool about muddy boots. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. I had a steak pie where the meat was recognisably meat.

I had the XJ6 serviced by John. It had been cutting out and the engine light came on a few times. Given that when I ignored the same symptom on the Astra it blew a head gasket I decided not to take any chances and get the bike checked out. John diagnosed some vacuum hose on the fuel supply has fractured. He replaced it and the bike is now running fine. Lloyd sprayed the scratched plastic fairing doing a lovely job. He told me off about the build up of rust at some points so I needed to be more diligent cleaning the machine. Yes sir!
