Amazingly the traffic is flowing into the Lincoln Tunnel. On Wednesday the traffic seemed to back up for miles on  the NJ side. The bus lane on the entrance to the tunnel makes the bus journey tolerable. Today’s destination is the Metropolitan museum of Art.

New York may well have the world highest density of cardiologists, triple heart bypass beneficiaries and junk food. I should have gone into developing medical technology. Any thing to stave off death from over- consumption. However, in the “undercroft” of Grand Central station is a food hall selling $12 sandwiches and $12 vegetable biryani. Delicious and very welcome the lunch was too. Interestingly, challenging my usual preconceptions, most of the people around are considerably slender than me (not difficult at the moment).
