New battery on motorcycle

Dec 22, 2016

The old battery was completely dead and I had been push-starting the Virago for a couple of weeks. I ordered this replacement from Halfords at the weekend. The battery was delivered yesterday and I had a tedious but nerve-wracking time filling it with acid. The instructions on filling missed some key information so the whole process took far longer than it should. However, the battery seemed to be “active” once I had filled it with acid. I decided to put it on charge for another 15 minutes to boost the voltage. I fitted the battery this morning and the bike started easily. Simples !

Unfortunately, the phone does not charge when connected via the fixing case do I need to have a poke around with a multimeter tomorrow to see if I can work out what is the problem
