Phone charger fixed
Jan 8, 2018
This was an unnecessary job. The plastic around the USB plug end of the phone charger had come off. All I needed to do was wrap a couple of strips of reinforced duct tape around it and the USB plug would have been secure. I left it and one of the leads to a tiny circuit board came away. It was fiddly but I stripped the fine wires, removed the cable stress reliever, resoldered the wires, refixed the stress reliever and finally covered the USB plug with the plastic cover and some strong tape. This mains charger delivers 840mA so its worthwhile keeping in my work bag. A PC USB outlet only delivers 480mA and is not enough to charge up my phone while I’m at work.
